There are some principles we should think about during design of stainless steel casting structure.

Thinner wall thickness.
If meet the minimum allowable wall thickness requirement, The thinner wall thickness the better. Because thinner wall thickness make melt stainless steel fluidity better. and can also avoid some defect due to thick wall, such as shrinkage cavity.

Uniform wall thickness,
Uniformed wall thickness is better for even cooling for melt metal. and can decrease strength, shape changing and shrinkage hole.

Smooth connection.
Due to the design of fillet, bevel, cone structure, we can avoid stress concentration during solidification process to decrease cracking defect.

Large inclination plane.
Large slant plane structure can help melt metal filling in and gas going out.

Symmetrical structure and reinforcing rib design can help decrease shape changing.

Design free contraction structure, we can avoid shape changing and cracking due to shrinkage stress.
